Gaia-Led Programs

Work with a Gaia team member to take on a climate action project with your students!

Grades: 9-12

This interdisciplinary program will encourage students to think critically about the transportation they use and their impact on the environment. An in-class presentation and classroom activities will introduce them to alternative and electric transportation systems. Students will employ their analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to think of sustainable solutions for their school and community.

The Green Experts Program is designed to help high school students learn more about green careers available in New Brunswick. Through networking and mentorship opportunities with qualified volunteers, youth can explore how they can take climate action to the next level: as professionals!

Climate Justice is designed to help students think critically and make informed, ethical choices about their consumption. They will learn how social issues and environmental issues are closely linked. The Gaia Project will provide students with the resources and support needed to explore human impacts.

The Climate Action Project – Science Focus is a hands-on inquiry-based program in which students act on real issues at school. The Youth Climate Leadership Guide is an interactive tool designed with the goal of equipping students with the necessary tools to lead a high-level climate action project at their school. This guide is broken into 6 units focusing on resources and activities relating to climate science, climate justice, eco-anxiety, green careers, project planning, and taking action.

Use this interactive scratch-as-you-go poster to make your classroom more sustainable and introduce important eco-conscious behaviour to your students. This online resource takes students and teachers on a deep dive into the world of electric vehicles. Students will complete activities that encourage them to think about the transportation they use and see around them every day and the impact on the environment. Students will participate in online and classroom activities and engage in meaningful discussion.
